Leavenworth "Icicle" Station (LWA) is a station stop for Amtrak's Empire Builder in Leavenworth, Washington. The station started service on September 25, 2009.[1] The station and parking are owned by the City of Leavenworth, Washington. The track and platforms are owned by BNSF Railway. There is no Amtrak Thruway Motorcoach connection at this station, but there is a stop at SR 2 and Icicle road.
Of the eighteen Washington stations served by Amtrak, Leavenworth was the fifteenth busiest in FY10, boarding or detraining an average of about 26 passengers daily.[2]
Link Transit has a Dial-a-Ride service that is open to the general public. The service requires at least a one day advance notice.[3]
Leavenworth Taxi also has a shuttle to and from the station.[4]
Some hotels in the area offer a shuttle to the train station such as the Icicle Inn.
